When asked what comes to mind at the mention of ‘Ireland’, most people will say the following, in any order: Guinness, St. Patrick’s Day and U2.

And it’s true, each one of them is part of the nation’s heartbeat.

I began working with U2 when I joined Dublin-based Four5Oneº Creative, headed by long time U2 designers Steve Averill and Shaughn McGrath. Steve not only designed iconic sleeves like ‘War’ and ‘The Joshua Tree’, he also came up with the name U2. Shaughn, who joined the company in the early 90s, was responsible for later classics like ‘Achtung Baby’ and ‘Pop’.

Soon after joining the company I found myself thrown in the deep end when I was asked to begin work on U2’s official biography ‘U2 BY U2’. I was simultaneously thrilled and terrified. It took two years to complete and, on publication, it became a New York Times best-seller.

Since then I have worked regularly for the band on remastered-rereleased packaging of many of their iconic albums, tour book graphics, imagery and effects, t-shirts, books, editorials and a lot more.
